Introduction
At Beaverbrook STEP, supporting self-advocacy and building social and community relationships are key elements for Advancing Real Lives and Building Inclusive Communities for individuals with disabilities and their families. Beaverbrook STEP helps the people we serve to attain joyful, meaningful lives in all areas of personal interest—work, recreation & leisure, community living, home life, transportation, communication, friendships and relationships. We support families, self-advocates, staff, volunteers and community leaders to collaborate and build social capital—friendships, family relationships and community connections that expand choices, provide new opportunities and offer options that enhance each person’s quality of life.
